Whether you like it or not, there is no denying that social media can make or break a business – but, how do you navigate them all to your advantage when they’re not made the same? Each platform has its strengths and weaknesses when driving potential customers to your page, so if you want to make it work in your favor with as little effort as possible, consider trying these 3 hacks that will help you step up your social media game — no matter what platform you use.
Organic interactions – You appreciate it when others interact with your content, so you should probably do the same with profiles you identify as potential clients/sales to bring their attention to your brand, and similar businesses (don’t think of them as competition — think of them as a page that you admire and can get ideas from!) The more you show support for your local community, businesses and customers, the more support you will receive back.
Hashtags/keywords – I know you are probably tired of hearing about hashtags, but they do come in handy on platforms such as Instagram and Twitter. But, what about the sites where hashtags aren’t so common, like Facebook or Youtube? The correct alternative would be proper keywording in your captions/titles. Keywords should be used in lieu of hashtags so bots can identify your content to share with the right audiences who may be searching for terms mentioned in your post. A great example is if you type in a recent event or trending name in Facebook’s search bar, it will bring up relevant posts mentioning those particular keywords without necessarily needing a relevant #hashtag.
Share4share (s4s) & mentions – My personal favorite method to grow on social media with as little effort as possible is by identifying businesses or pages closely related to yours and asking them if they would be interested in a “share4share” post. This can be as simple as a story mention with their @ or a full-blown feed post, but the key here is to make sure they agree to share your content too so you both can reap the benefits of being seen in front of two very similar audiences. Equally as important is asking your clients to mention you in their posts once in a while when they are happy with your service – you can even offer to “reshare” their post to your stories or feeds so they can be seen by your audience too. This is a win/win situation for everyone that most people would be happy to agree to.
