The beach season isn’t over yet, so there’s still plenty of time for a beach vacation!  Are you ready for it, or are you still stressing about your body and how it looks in a bikini? If you don’t feel completely comfortable in one, here are the five things you should do to get a bikini-ready body to become the ultimate beach queen.

I am not a fan of quick fixes and crash diets, so if you expected some of this here, then I must disappoint you. However, there are a few things you can do that can change how your body and skin look just in a couple of days.

1. Get Your Beauty Sleep

Sleep is the most underrated yet powerful thing in our busy lives, whether for our health, fitness goals, or beauty. Ensure you get at least seven to eight hours of restful sleep each night. Not only will it make you feel good and more alert, but it will also influence your body and even your face a lot. By sleeping enough, you won’t store more water than you should, which you will immediately see in the mirror and on your scales. Your hormones will get into balance, and your hunger levels will be reduced, meaning you won’t overeat accidentally.

2. Stay Hydrated

Humans are made of about 55-60% of water, so staying hydrated is not only healthy but also essential! By drinking enough, you ensure that all the processes in your body work smoothly and eliminate all the toxins. Your skin will get the desired “glow” and look healthier. Combine hydration with a good night of sleep, and you will be positively surprised.

During summertime and hot temperatures, make sure you take some electrolytes too, which you might lose through sweating, or which might be diluted if you drink too much water. Aim for 30-40 ml of fluids per 1 kg of body weight. And all fluids count – water, tea, coffee, soda, etc.

3. Eat Less Processed Foods

Try to focus on whole foods and consume less processed foods that are higher in carbs, fats, and other additives. Cut out foods and drinks with artificial sweeteners too. As a result, you might find yourself less bloated, with better-looking skin, and feeling just a bit more comfortable in your own body!

Make sure your number one priority is getting enough protein. If you have four meals a day, try to eat at least one palm-sized portion of protein-rich foods in each of your meals.

4. Add HIIT or Circuits Into Your Training

You can add HIIT (high-intensity interval training) into your routine. They are quite short on time yet very effective and can add some extra sweat on your training day without the need to incorporate longer cardio sessions. Another way to do so is also doing circuit workouts. You can switch up your training routine or add a couple of body weight circuits throughout the day.

5. Practice Self Love

A bikini-ready body is not a specific body type. It’s much more of a specific mindset. The truth is, everybody is a bikini body. Once we truly accept ourselves as we are, we will be happy with how we look. Our bodies change all the time: as you read in the tips above, even just your sleep and water intake change your look and weight. Understanding that celebrating the “phase” your body might currently be in and being grateful for being healthy and yourself as you are that’s what will make your beach vacation memorable and enjoyable. Well, that and a gorgeous bikini you should definitely treat to yourself!
